“I’m scared I’ll cut my natural hair..” Medium Knotless Braids Take Out

What are medium knotless braids?

The clients’ natural hair is parted into medium sized sections and their natural hair is plaited at the root. Using the feed-in method, braiding hair is then added to achieve desired thickness and length of the knotless braid. This braid style does not require a knot at the root like traditional box braids.

How do you take out medium knotless braids?

WARNING! It is perfectly safe to cut your braids WITHOUT cutting your natural hair when taking braids out.. here’s how:

· Cut the braids 1-2inch below where natural hair ends

· Un-plait the braids by separating the strands

· When unplaiting the braids, the braiding hair will naturally fall out

· Unplait the braiding hair to the roots

· Unplait natural hair at the root

· Detangle the section using a wide tooth comb or Denman brush to remove any knots and/or product build up

· Repeat this for all of the braids and ensure hair is thoroughly detangled

· Pre-poo, wash, condition and deep condition hair once all the braiding hair is removed then follow up with the LOC or LCO moisturising method

What are the benefits of taking out knotless braids?

1) Hair can properly be washed and deep conditioned

2) Unplaiting braids and natural hair at the root reduce the chance of breakage

3) Removes excess build up at the roots

4) Hair can be thoroughly detangled

Hair can be restyled into a new hairstyle
