WHAT IS KNOTLESS BRAIDS?

• Process of braiding the hair without the knot at the root. • It involves plaiting the natural hair first then adding strands of the braiding hair to achieve the desired thickness and length

WHAT ARE THE PROS OF KNOTLESS BRAIDS?

Healthier and better protective style as it prevents traction alopecia which is common for women who regularly have traditional box braids installed because of the large knots at the root (overall benefit)

  1. Tension Free - there is no knot at the root causing tension

  2. Lightweight - less braiding hair is used to achieve the look so braids are not heavy

  3. Not bulky - braids sit flat no matter what size as there is no knot at the root

  4. Easy Manipulation & Styling - can immediately wear hair up as there is no tension at the root so no need to wait for hair to “settle” before styling

  5. No breakage - no tension at the root and less hair used so braids are not heavy reducing the risk of breakage to the hair

  6. Lasts longer - High unlikely to lose a braid as the technique requires strands of the braiding hair to be fed in so unlikely to slip and slide as the natural hair grows like what happens with traditional box braids

  7. Stylish - they’re trendy, popular, and more preferred than traditional box braids! Generally more aesthetically pleasing than regular box braids due the flatness and the overall natural look of the braids

WHAT ARE THE CONS OF KNOTLESS BRAIDS?

1. Typically the style costs £10-£20 more

2. Can take longer to install but typically no more than 1 hour more
